The music maestro. The Mozart of the Indian music industry. The man who knows the knack and the art of juggling with sounds, beats, chords, tunes, notes, rhythms and weaving an intricate web of melody that no one can escape. This is the prodigious A R Rahman. His talent and output has one of the prime reasons for a movie’s success or even fame. His records have been sold even when the movie might not be doing too well at the box-office. Rahman has a very wide repertoire of music. Be it Bach, Beethoven, Reggae, Rock, Karnatic, Hindustani classical he fuses them so fantastically that the end product is simply fabulous.

Rahman has to his credit more than 2 dozen hit albums that have crossed a gross* 2.5 million unit sales each world over, a long list of movie albums, ad jingles, non film hit numbers, an enormous list of prestigious awards and is now making new waves internationally with the launch of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical *Bombay Dreams that is catapulting him to international fame.

Rahman has been instrumental in bringing about a remarkable technological sophistication in the recordings through his latest techniques. His studio is India’s most well equipped and advanced recording studio. His music is the new age music redefined-* digital, upshot, catchy and upbeat*.

Although it is just a decade since he has been present in the music industry, he has some soul stirring melodies.
