THE MOST FAMOUS INDIAN ALIVE?
INDUBITABLY-AMITABH BACHCHAN!
..........................to say that this man is a great actor would be an understatement.He has been in the industry for the Longost period of time,has the maximum number of hits to his name,and still growing strong.A man who did not belong to the film industry,a man who was rejected by ALL INDIA RADIO when he applied as a broadcaster b'coz of his voice,a man with whom a few actresses of yesteryears refused to click a photograph with................inspite of all this to reach where he as is a testimony to his will and character.I won't say that he is my favourite actor..............coz its but obvious,here i'll list ten of my most favourite films of AMITABH BACHCHAN................and I own them all on my DVD collection.And I must add one more thing..................there is no better ENTERTAINER than him,he can act,fighT,sing,dance,romance,emote............and the list goes on.
1.SAUDAGAR............its one of my most favourite film of Amitabh Bachchan,where he played a slightly negative role,of a gudwala.He marries Nutan because she is the best gud maker in town,and he wants to earn money to marry Padma Khanna and when he earns enough money he leaves her for P'K............and then comes HIS downfall.To say that he was better than NUTAN ................just goes on to prove how good he was in the film.One of AB's most under-rated performance.HAR HASEEN CHEEZ KA is my fav song of his...............
2.ANAND................Well if you cannot think of Anand without RAJESH KHANNA,i cannot think of ANAND without BABU MUSHAIYE too.Though he was in a small role in this brilliantly directed film by HRISHIKESH MUKHERJI..............there was something very real and nice about his charaCter and acting,and also TO hold his own WHICH WAS PREDOMINANTLY A rajesh khanna FILM,was great.The climax scene still brings tears to my eyes..............
3.CHUPKE CHUPKE..................Well who says that AMITABH BACHCHAN is only good in angry young man's role,just check out this laugh riot,and you'll be forced to beleive that he has a great penchant for humour too.He is simply outstanding as PROFESSOR PARIMAL TRIPATHI................
4.ABHIMAAN..................my all time favourite film of AMITABH BACHCHAN-JAYA BHADHURI.The film was about how a man cannot accept the fact that his wife is becoming more famous tham him and how ego creeps in and breaks their relationship.Its the most brilliant film, with the most brilliant performances,but I personally loved AB's acting in.it.................his expressions of jealousy are just unbeleivably good..............esp when he ''ZYADA HAI,TO ZYADA HI SAHI''.
5.DON...............Another of my favourite film.Amitabh Bachchan in angry young man avtaar.............wearing those bell-bottoms,surrounded by woman,playing cards..........holding a pistol in his hand,quite a sight to see..............for a movie lover like me.DON was a super slick and cool movie and Amitabh in a doulble role was rocking..................khaike paan banaras wala is another reason to watch this film.
6.NAMAK HALAL..................This one has to be the funniest film I have seen and AMITABH BACHCHAN's acting was just too good................only coz of his performance NAMAK HALAL is in this list,I CAN TALK IN ENGLISH,I CAN WALK,IN ENGLISH COZ ENGLISH IS A VERY PHUNNY LANGUAGE.
7.DEEWAR...............I must have seen this film close to 50 times,and still it remains on my list of most watchable films..............AAJ KHuSH TO BAHUT HOGI TUM,MERE PAAS PROPERTY HAI,BANGLA HAI,TUMHARA PAAS KYA HAI,MAIN AAJ BHI GIRE PAISE NAHI UTHATA,JAO PEHLE US AADMI KA SIGN LE KE AAO,..............were some of the dialouges which made DEEWAR what it is..............and only a man of AMITABH's calibre could have done justice to these dialouges.
8.MAJBOOR................another of those under-rated films anD performance of his,where he is made to beleive that he is suffering from brain tumour,and from there starts the thrill..............great film and great performance by AMITABH BACHCHAN.
9.TRISHUL...............do mahaan kalakaro ki takkar,SANJEEV KUMAR and AMITABH BACHCHAN...............who wins?Well they both are two good an actors to wIn these games.............Amitabh Bachchan as the neglected son of Sanjeev kumar in this film was brilliant.
10.BLACK...............frankly though I did not like his performance in the first half i'll keep this film just for the simple reason that if a mAn can come with this film and performance aT the age of 62...............than he surely deserves an ovation.
THIS is my list of AMITABH BACHCHAN's film.....................''I WISH HIM MANY MANY HAPPY RETURNS OF THE DAY'' and MAY HIS TRIBE INCREASE............i wrote this review as a tribute to him.
