Story:

Its funny how I end up with one review after another on Sidney Sheldon ‘s novels maybe because the master storyteller’s masterpieces are one of my favourites.

I dedicate this review to all my female MS counterparts (Guys! Don’t give me that murderous look .My next one is all yours) simply because of how highly Sheldon thinks of women. Here is what Sheldon said when interviewed by Time Warner Books

“I'm tired of the cliche of the ''dumb blonde'' - if a woman is beautiful, ergo she's stupid. I hate that cliche. I like to write about women who are as capable at their jobs as any man would be, who are intelligent, and who retain their femininity. I know women like that. I am married to a woman like that. And my mother was like that. I don't think men appreciate women enough, and I think it's time we changed that.”

Now down to business

Three women

One of them a murderer

Ashley Patterson

Lonely, shy, convinced she's being stalked

Toni Prescott

A saucy, British vixen with a penchant for Internet dating and discotheques

Alette Peters

An aspiring artist who prefers quiet, dreamy weekends with her paintings

The victims are people associated with at least one of them. Ashley Patterson is arrested and David Singer, Ashley's lawyer convinces the judge that the murder is not preplanned and Ashley is not the culprit.

Ashley denies knowing most of the victims

Toni is missing

Alette’s whereabouts are not known

Who then is the murderer? What is the motive behind it all?

This is when all the excitement begins

Am sorry if I am revealing the plot but the highlight of the book has to be brought out in my review or my review would be incomplete.

Ashley, Toni and Alette are all the same person. NO she is not a con artist. This is a serious case of Multiple Personality Disorder. Toni and Alette are alter egos born in her mind in times when Ashley finds solace in a world of fantasy running away from distress. When these other personalities take over Ashley’s real identity is lost. This is when the murders take place and this is also the reason behind Ashley’s sense of time-loss.

What was the necessity for Ashley to escape into a world of fantasy? What was she running away from?

This you will have to find for yourself as you read the book.

I still remember the day I was reading this particular book (the first time I was reading a Sheldon novel and that was some years ago) I could feel goosebumps. Should appreciate the research the author has done and the efforts he has put in to make his readers understand all about Multiple Personality Disorder (the problem discussed in detail in the book), a very interesting and thrilling concept presented in the best manner possible.

Based on a true story and laden with realistic details---Tell Me Your Dreams is vintage Sheldon
