Ever since I heard the storyline, I knew it sounded similar to a Hollywood movie I had seen in the past. I was convinced further after I watched the movie at the cinemas yesterday night. It kept pinching me all night and yet I couldn't remember the movie.
Google and four words did the trick ''movie review accident court''. Type that into Google and read the Movie Review of ''Changing Lanes''. It's a RIPOFF!!!!!!Nay some may say inspired by Changing Lanes. But yet again, I am dissapointed by the Hindi film industry.
Come on guys, if it is not a ripoff and if it is indeed just inspired by a certain movie atleast give the original movie some credit.
That said I must say that Milan Luthria and his crew have lifted the story successfully off the original. To their credit, they have transported the script and screenplay successfully from the streets of New York to Mumbai. The movie is watchable and well paced. Technically it looks slick despite several problems with continuity. However the fast paced events distract your attention away from such inconsistencies.
To sum up, it's a watchable movie. However at the end of the day I just get a bad feeling, whenever I watch a ripoff like this, however good the movie. Why, why oh why must our filmmakers do that. Just imagine, how nice one would have felt, if the storyline had been original. Come on guys It's not that hard is it? You've made a great movie - all you had to do surely was to come up with an original story!!!!!
