Well, after the great success of the Indica, Tata launches the big bro Indigo. No doubt, that in the past, Tata has faced issues with their cars in their initial phases, the maximum complaints for their gear boxes, but this time, every minute detail was well taken care of. Tata spent Rs. 200 crore to build the Indica right from the on paper design to the finished product. But the car fumbled in the beginning when more and more complaints poured in. The engineers at TELCO put on their thinking caps once again, pondered a lot on the customer feedback received and not just rectified the car but gave back the customers what they really needed - their lost trust. With the Indica V2 replacing the preceded model, Tata once again experienced an acceleration in their sales, till Indica became the most trusted car in the small segment overall India. So much so, that I read in a newspaper, that TELCO would soon be exporting it too. Well, they have ensured this time, that they go out of their way and keep the customer’s faith in them intact.

The Indigo has been tested for 3.2 million KMs in some state-of-the-art facility (am bad with names) in the UK. It has undergone more tests than any other Indian car. The Indigo is actually a mid sized car and not just the Indica with an attached boot. It churns up 10 BHP of extra power and the comfort level is comparable to the Mercedes. Please please don’t be surprised or think that I am exaggerating, but trust me, it really is in the Mercedes class. Its got a 3-link rear suspension, which means, when you sit in the car, irrespective of the roads on the outside, you get a royal treatment on the inside. Its availability in both Petrol and Diesel gives the buyer, the preference of choosing acceleration or power, short-term low maintenance or long-term low maintenance costs. In other words, you get what you pay for and more. Talking about the looks, well the front looks JUST like an Indica, but the rear and the side give it a completely new look. I believe the front of the Indica was the best part of it, which they have also implemented in the big bro.

Overall, I just freaked over the car when I saw it in the showroom. It’s your time to check it out and it’s high time, we stop being skeptical about Indian products and give our nation a chance.
