After driving only MARUTI cars for the last 24 years; my decision to buy an TATA product really required some guts because very very few people of the people whom I know have recommended a TATA product. Among them were automobile engineers and supposedly car analysts.
But still after reading all the reviews of MOUTHSHUT.com I finally decied to take the plunge.Jyaada se jayaada kya hoga. 2 saal mein gaadi badal denge. I took the test drive. I did not like the petrol version as I felt it was underpowered.I was pretty impressed with the diesel version.
With this final determinationI booked the car with FORTUNE CARS. Then my nightmare began. I had to call upthe dealer at least 10 times in a day to know the status of the delivery. Every time the concerned sales person used to be " NOT THERE ". At last I was given delivery a full 5 days after the promised date. Issues which I feel should be sorted out before taking the delivery and signing the acknowledgement of delivery.
1) Check alignment of all doors and boot door. Doors of my car are not aligned properly. Boot door does not shut properly. I showed this to the sales person, but he said ye aisa hi hota hai. I nearly fainted with his answer.
2) Check for poor paint jobs ( My car's boot has shoddy paint job.
3) Check for wheel alignment. My car's been veering towards left side from the day one. I reported this to the dealer. The mechanic said that I have will have to carry out wheel alignment on my own cost.
4) Faint smell of engine fumes coming inside the cabin. I dont know has anyone noticed this ?
5) I think the odometer runs a little fast. I have compared this with my old car and the milestones. Any one can enlighten me on this one?
