Title : indica v2

Review : Hi, I was going through all the reviews about tata indica.(especially v2). I own an indica v2 which I purchased back in DEC 2001 and till now it has been working great. It has done about 31000 kms and the only main thing I have changed was the lower arm( which costs about 1500RS)and it was replaced only at 30000 kms. I have seen customer's review complaining about noise on car ,poor pickup etc. Well there are some aspects that people are not looking into before going for indica. 1.indica diesel vehicle will be noisy when compared to most of the other cars in its category. But the thing is that there are not other diesel car in it category .All the other cars are petrol and you cannot compare a diesel car with a petrol.I even found one review comparing indica with palio 1.2 and 1.6.Well palio is a good car.But its petrol. You cannot compare a diesel with a petrol .On all the fronts petrol will get an upper hand.Diesel cars are not meant for people who like more power on the engine. It is mainly for saving your pocket. If you want a less noisy car (that too in diesel) Then you will have to go for Accent CRDI but then it costs a whooping 7 Lakhs.Even if you take the new palio diesel(which costs about 1 lakh more than indica)the noise is there. But thats the way it is .You cant expect sound of a petrol engine from a diesel car which costs only Rs.350000)

2.I have seen many people complain about power. This again happens when they set wrong expectations in ther mind before buying the vehicle.Indica does require frequent gear changes in city .But all the people are comparing it with the petrol vehicle in its class and not with a diesel vehicle(jut because there are no other diesel vehicles in its class).I think we should wait for a new diesel car ( from any other company ) on the same class before we can compare the vehicles. The power on indica is less but it is acceptable while considering the cost and the size of the vehicle.

3.There are some reviews showing a lot of engine problems. I know that there was a lot of engine problems with older version of indica most of which has been resolved with v2.So I can understand the frustration of the users who has the older version of indica(which is not v2). But what I am dealing here is the V2 model . I had a maruti zen which was just 1.2 yrs old.Ther was no problem with that but within the short span of 1.2 yrs I have spent about 12000 RS on servicing. It had done about 18000 kms.It had never given me any problems but spending 12000 for servicing!!! its a big ask.On my Indica I have spend around 10000 RS but it has ran about 310000 kms.So I will give full marks to indica on this front. Also you will have to do proper service evey 5000 kms. And there can be 6 or 7 vehicles that will have never ending problems but it cant be helped. For that matter any car you take out of 1000 vehicles I belive 3 or 4 will be having never ending problems. But if you look on an average about 80% of the people who bought Indica I believe is happy with the vehicle perfomance. I know that if you are worried only about power and perfomance then you will get a better car ( with more power)but definitely not at the price of Indica. As far as I am concerned Indica has given me good value for the money I have spend

Pros : mileage,value for spend
