I had purchased a TATA Indica V2 Diesel in the Year 2001 and believe me the experience made me promise my self to never go in for TATA Vehicle again.

Well, for people running less than 100 Kms a day, a diesel vehicle is not recommended and that too if its a TATA vehicle, then rest assured you've paid back for all your sins!

I had all conceivable problems with my TATA Indica V2 - Diesel in just a matter of 3 Years and since I had spent so much on the maintanence, I dragged on with it and kept investing on the maintanence. I drove just 45, 000 kms in 6 Years before an unfortunate car dealer bought it from me. I know he has repented on his decision.

To put the problem in a nut shell, I can say there is a basic workmanship problem. The quality of all the materials used is 3rd grade. Hence, they keep failing every now and then. The only solace I hade in a TATA Indica was the space inside. its as big as an AMBASSADOR from inside.

I would'nt like to remember those awful days when I owned a TATA Indica, but I have to remind myself once in while, lest I fall prey to its outside looks once again.

Now, TATA has launched the NANO. God alone can save the buyers since just today I've read that 3 vehicles have caught fire. Do not get attracted by the pricing. Its better to throw(losing it, donating it or splashing it is still better) your money away than buying a TATA car.

I think for TATAS, India is a tst marlet. They test their low-cost hence low-quality products here before they can perfect them for exports after a few years.
