We had done the test drive at around July 2015. And during the test drive we noted the following defects
-With a/c we tried to take slopes and in all the slopes, the sales guy was poking on the S( which is supposed to give some more power) button, didn't see much difference though.
-while taking reverse on a slope again with a/c the engine went off, which actually is not supposed to happen with any automatic gear car.
-There is no remote opening of dicky feature and it can be opened only with a key from outside. For this extra accessory it you have to pay 3500.
Inspite of all this, we had booked our tata nano genx on aug 4th 2015, since we were looking at a secondary car to pickup/drop my daughter from school and run the usual house errands. And this car was apt as a city car for Bangalore. We were promised, we'd get the car in 8 weeks time and a max of 10 weeks if delayed. On sept first week we got an apology letter from tata with attached 4gb drive of An audio book of'beyond the last blue mountain' About the life of J.R.D.( pic attached)
Till now we haven't received the car and today they called us telling there is a revision in the amount saying we have to pay extra 10k. Inspite of patiently waiting for 4 months.
Will be updating more on the car soon when I get it.
