I wish there was a rating ZERO that was available here. Because that is what this card deserves.
You will keep paying, Tata Card will always say they haven’t received your payment! And increase your fines, your dues! It’s a nightmare card.
I used my card once, received my statement, and paid well before the due date.
Next time I tried using my card, the retailer returned it with a sneer, "This did not go through".
So I checked whether the payment I made earlier had been cleared. I found that the cheque had been cleared BEFORE the due date!
So I called up Tata Card Customer Care, and asked them if they had received the payment. They said they hadn't. I informed that I saw that my cheque was cleared in my bank statement. They asked for a certificate from the bank!
Since I did not have much of a choice, I got this certificate from the bank, and mailed it to them. After a week, I called them again, and they said they have not received any such statements. So I sent the statement once again. Finally, after about a month, they credited the amount to my account.
Was that the end of my woes? Not at all! I tried using my card once again, and this time, the retailer said that he was getting a message, "Call Customer Care". As if I was using a stolen card.
So I called up customer care again, and they said that my card was permanently blocked as I had not paid up my dues in the past. I reminded them that I had actually paid up in full. They said yes, that is right, but since you had not paid up eariler, a permanent block was put on the card. I said but I had paid in time; you guys had goofed up and not posted it correctly. The customer care "executive" then said I should have called them up to get my card unblocked! I could not understand the logic at all. After clearing the matter of the payment with them, when they said my card was now cleared, how could I have dreamed that my card was still in the blocked status?
The only option now, they said was they would issue me a new card. I told them you can keep your card. I put in a request for closing the card. Still waiting for confirmation that my card is closed.
