After a long time seen a movie and its sequel. The movie is on the floor. No exotic locations, No special graphics. Even the houses are not sprawling and over the top. The movie is ground reality. Life doesnt provide in itself one language, one story. It has too many turns, changes.
Log chahe kuch bhi kahe. Sanima valiyo ko to bass Shaadi karna aur bigaadna pasand se.
I always used to wonder how come all the people in a movie speak the perfect Hindi/ Telugu while in reality we see people speaking different tongues.
This movie showed exactly that.
The houses are dull and boring. naturally. Even for the marriage.they havent got a special embroidered, perfect coloured walls. they are normal. Some decoration is done, but its only what is done in a real marriage, not a setting.
Songs are real, in reality totally sequential.
Some of the coincidences are filmy. but then sometimes fact is stranger than fiction. like missing the pen and Marriage getting postponed.
Tanu weds Manu and its return. both the movies. Short enough that people dont get bored of a real life like sequence. Long enough to complete the story. 2 hr+ something slightly over it.
The father's are great characters. "Main court mein tha beta. isliye phone nahee utha paaya". baaprey. itna zindagi ke paas. kabhie fim nahi dekha yaaro main.
the way the second girl wants to hit Manu. intersesting . O bhai saab. aap theek to hai naa. then takes out the hockey stick and confronts. wow. what a real way to start the confrontation.
Kangana Ranaut.(Tanu Trivedi) . Sometimes. angry. sometimes, normal. Sometimes. busy, sometimes free.
Reverse of what Manu is Manoj Sharma . Sarma ji.
"main jaisi hu waise mujhe pyaar karta hai. Customize nahi karta woh mujhe". Tanu tells about Manu.
These are movies worth spending 4 hours on. Do see if you havent already.
Ek baar dekh lo bhai.Bola tha na. achha lagega.
