HI my name is krishna and I work for a call centre in Bangalore . I was looking forward a bike that would give good mileage , pick up & should be maintanance free and also the one that fits into my budget I selected bajaj discover , tvs victor glx . As this was my first bike I did take extra care in selecting the bike. After a lot of reaserch I finally zeroed on tvs victor glx 125 .
[ I do not have much knowledge about the bikes but let me share what little I know.]
First let me tell you what my bike is really made of:
Its a clever little motorcycle. Learning from their experience with the Fiero, Victor and Centra, the 125 capitalises on learnings from them all. The result is pretty impressive. Its 124.8cc engine makes a shade less horsepower than the ompetition, but it is the most slick-feeling engines of the lot.
Incorporating the bunch of gadgets – four ignition maps, two sparks per stroke, solenoid bypass valve and lights on the console – that debuted on the TVS Centra, it also claims 66 kpl in real world riding, which is among the highest in the segment.
Engine: 124.8cc single cylinder
Max power: 10 bhp@7500 rpm
Max torque: 0.97 kgm@6500 rpm
Kerb weight: 118 kg
The VT-i engines technology is based on three fundamental actions namely:
Variable ignition timing and superior combustion of fuel
Friction reduction
Fuel wastage reduction.
These actions facilitate deceleration fuel cut off, faster warm up of the Engine and has a four-curve ignition mapping.
This motorcycle is supported with a rectangular box type swing arm, 5-step adjustable rear shock absorber and 130 dia front & rear brake drum and designed keeping in mind the rider’s safety, style and comfort.
It cost me 48,000+ without disk brake and electric start.
NO hassles with the dealer or with the service centre.
Victor Glx has good styling .
A bulky body hence a better road grip.
Head lamps are the best of all the bikes .
Smooth engine & gear change (except 1st -> neutral)
Better ground clearence for Bangalores bumpy roads.
Mileage 55 -58 in city.
Problems
Initial pick up is less (0 - 60 in 7+ sec) when compared to fazer and discover.
Takes time to start under cold climate.
Seating is conjested but broad ,not comfortabe if you have a navigator .
if parked outside in rain the water seeps into the tank and results in damaging the engine.
Power delivery I feel is not to he mark.
In rainy season and cold climatic conditions once needs to tilt the vehicle to its right and then kick start.
