Friends I bought Fiero F2 in the end of 2003 which means I have had this bike for more than 5 years now. Finally I decided to write about this bike. I have ridden CBZ, Pulsar also extensively and hence now can say a few things about this bike with surety.

Positives:

1) Extremely good balance

2) Extremely smooth gears switching

3) Consistent mileage (Even now I get around 50 kmpl)

4) Extremely low maintenance (Must have spent max 4k till now on maintenance)

5) Good tyres and then I changed to MRF nylogrip and now the road grip is absolutely awesome. TVS tyres were not that good when roads were wet. Good Roadgrip on the whole.

6) Extremely good front benders. Quite sturdy and robust. Survived two really bad falls with just few scratches and no other injury.

7) Good quality of shock absorbers. Have ridden on different types of terrains and no backaches etc

8) Quite a good pickup. Even now after the first 100 mts am able to catch up with most of the new. bikes. In earlier days 2003-04 no bike could outrun mine. Remember taking on cbz and pulsars of those days (when I was still single :) )

Negatives

1) Very weak Rear Suspension. Most of it is in plastic and makes of lot of noise.

2) Bad Disc brakes. I have changed the disc wheel twice already. Again mechanic says needs to be replaced. I asked him to leave that, though the brakes still work fine (though like drum brakes).

3) 2nd gear lacks power. After 1st gear you feel the power in 3rd gear and 4th gear is top one. However the 5th gear in CBZ and pulsar gives a clear cruise feel which gets missed out in 4th gear here.

4)Body structure looks shoddy. TVS can do much work on that. Though I understand that the model has been discontinued for apache.

5) The chain cover panel is clanking all the time though the chain is tight

6) Should have a button startoption

But an unbelievable experience still. I still dont find any reason to sell it. My mechanic is willing to buy this bike even now at 30k. Says this model is better than most of the new bikes in the market. Am planning to hold on this model for some more time. Dont find any reason to sell it anyway coz it servers all my requirements with ease and pleasure even now.

This bike has been with me in all situations dry, windy, rainy, flooded and never failed me. A bike you can take to office as well as party and it will gel along in both the places fine.
