This is my Dream bike & to many youth across the country. I had waited for its launch for a long time & finally had a chance to test drive the biek.

I am from Chennai, I am looking for a 125cc bike with decent mileage, good look, powerful.I decided to go with TVS Flame, Bajaj Xcd 125cc, Suzuki Zeus/Heat.

TVS have made two huge mistakes with this bike.

  1. This bike needs an RPM indicator/tachometer.

  2. A 4-speed gearbox?! What a joke. A new bike in this category needs a 5 speed, preferably with close ratios.

On road mileage: 65 kmpl The Flame has been priced at Rs. 49, 950 On Road in Chennai for the Alloy Wheels/Electric Start variant

Suzuki Heat 125    Rs. 42, 050

Bajaj XCD DTS-Si    Rs. 45, 590

TVS Flame CCVTi    Rs. 49, 950

Suzuki Zeus    Rs. 50, 050

Hero Honda Super Splendor    Rs. 49, 680

Hero Honda Glamour    Rs. 51, 060

Honda Shine    Rs. 50, 952

Yamaha Gladiator DLX    Rs. 52, 290

Yamaha Gladiator Graffiti    Rs, 52, 790

Yamaha Gladiator Type J.A    Rs. 54, 790

The Flame has definitely got to be the most beautiful bike in the segment.A job well done by TVS.I am sure every bike enthusiast in the country would be raring to get their hands on this one.Its not only good looking but also seems to be very powerful.

Flame may be styled to look alike a sport bike but the message is clear be stylish but not at the price of the comfort. Seems like these two bikes are targeting different set of customers but satisfy the expectations of the buyer. XCD is an attractive option considering the features, price and most importantly the mileage. It even outsmarts the popular 100cc bikes in efficiency dept. But XCD lacks in styling at least to flame. Flame with neat proportions is eye catching and is sure to set a million heart aflame. Hi –tech CVTi engine makes the flame to lead in performance over XCD.

If you are looking for a commuter bike with fair performance but solid mileage and at low price then XCD must be your obvious choice. But if you don’t mind shelling out another 6000 bucks and wanna a stylish and youthful machine, then its the right time to book a flame.

  1. handling and control

(Great)

  1. engine quality.

(Great)

  1. gearbox performance.

(Good)

  1. max speed.

( I expect, it Can reach 100Kmph; Doubles pickup was good)

  1. feel any vibrations on higher speed.(No)

TVS had made a World Class Premium bike with Apache & they again did it with Flame in the 125cc segment.

The other good bikes in this Segment r

1) Yamaha Gladiator, (5 Speed)

2)Suzuki Zeus, (5 Speed)

3)Bajaj XCD, (4 Speed)

4)Honda Shine.(4 Speed)

5) HH Glamor(4 Speed)

I came to know that TVS Flame Sale will start after 1 month in rest of India. ie, Jan-Feb 2008.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008, Have a Flameproof Christmas.
