Hi guys,
I have purchased Apache on 29th April 06. I had a splendor earlier and wanted to go for some powerful bike. The obvious choices were Pulsar & Unicorn. I have driven pulsar taken from my friends....
I was really apprehensive about going for this bike coz I have always been a fan of Hero Honda for their superior products and value for money. I did a lot of research on net to get as much details as possible about this stunner. I can now proudly say that I havn't made a wrong decision.
I have a blue colour DB Apache which has done 1750 KMS (first service done) under city traffic conditions in Bangalore Its given me a decent figures of 50 KMS / litre.. First, let me come to the positives of this bike and to the negatives if any.
Super looks - I am not getting a day without ppl having a second look at my bike. Then the obvious questions like performance, mileage, pick up etc etc.
Comfortable seating and handling position - U can ride the whole day without any strains and fatigue.
Great Pickup - Though I have not tested this beauty beyond 70 KM, I can feel that its just waiting for opening of the throttle. Believe me guys, u can push this bike!!!!
Now coming to the cons I found.
Hard gears - I was really annoyed when I took the delivery of the bike from the showroom. The gear shift was a big effort. U needed to put ur energy in shifting the gears. I instantly asked the showroom guys to have a look at my new bike.. They told me that it will ease out over a period of time. I promptly told it when I gave it for first service and had my gear spring changed. After that, there have been no problems at all.
Vibrations - This has been a common feedback from all the ppl who have written review abt this bike. But, I must say, u will not feel any vibrations till 50 kms, then its starts vibrating but its very negilable.
Hard shocks - Some how I have found the shocks to be little hard. I still feel some changes need to made reg shock absorbers. Hero Honda bikes have the best shock absorbers in the industry. So, having driven Splendor for 60,000 KMS, I was little dissappointed there. I read in some reveiw that the rear shocks need to be adjusted to level 2. I will get this done during second service.
My final comments are:
Guys, Take a wise decision based on all the feedback and take a good test ride and then go for APACHE because "ITS NOW OR NEVER".
