My son, and I traveled recently to Switzerland to meet my birth relatives for the first time in my life after a 54 year search. We stayed in a beautiful little Dorf called Murg with a view of the Walensee river and glorious mountains. The view is breathtaking. We took the train from Germany to Zürich, and then rented a car so we could experience all of the beauty at our own pace. We were so hungry that we spontaneously got off at an exit before we reached our destination and discovered the most amazing little restaurant called Orion. The food was unbelievably delicious and not that costly, and we had a wild boar and schnitzel that was to die for. We continued our trip and were able to drive through tunnels in mountains, which was very exciting. All around us was nothing but majesty and perfection. We spent several days with our relatives who were some of the most delightful people anyone could imagine, and we feel very blessed because of that. When our visit was over, we drove toward Geneva. Here is one of my only complaints. Your country is breathtakingly beautiful and I had two cameras with me, but we had a deadline, so I wanted to take pictures as we were driving from Glarus to Geneva. Almost every single time I raised my camera or cell phone to take a picture there was a hedgeRow or a wall or a tunnel in the way, it was so difficult to take pictures, and I wanted to be certain that the rest of the world could see all of this beauty. Your prices are quite expensive for most things, and they actually made me feel good about the prices in America, which are terribly high. We saw a sign for KFC and thought it would be interesting to see what the difference is in a Swiss KFC, and an American one. We got two meals which would’ve cost us about $18-$20 in the United States and they cost us 43 swiss francs. That was a shock but now it’s hilarious. I don’t know how the swiss people can survive with prices like that. I suppose the key is not to eat at fast food restaurants. The chicken was great though. In truth, we had a marvelous time with our wonderful new relatives and your breathtakingly beautiful country. We would urge anybody who has a chance to spend some time there, and experience this majesty.
