Living My Dreams. Review on Switzerland, General

I believe that a holiday is not about just going and seeing a new place . It's about planning and dreaming , of discovering and feeling , and finally capturing those moments of discovery forever . Switzerland is just the place for that . I always enjoy the planning part of a holiday as much as the actual trip and with a powerful tool like the internet you can colour your imagination with real images of everything.

My husband says that Switzerland is more about the trains than the mountains . I think that's true . We have the most Spectacular scenery up in the Northern Hill stations , but how is easy is it to get there ?

We planned our trip in October , It was just chilly enough for us to feel like we are in Switzerland . After all , nobody wants to be feel hot out there . It was the beginning of the fall season which added different colours to the green.

The whole of Switzerland is connected by railway . And you could go anywhere from anywhere most comfortably. The swiss federal railway has a very informative and interactive website https://sbb.ch . I used this extensively to get an idea of how much time and money will be spent in getting to see the major attractions .We decided to buy a Swiss pass which took care of all the travelling in Switzerland by train , Road or Bus . We had friends a little away from Zurich and we wanted it to be the base for our excursions. We visited many places in Switzerland in a span of 7 days .

We made a reservation through RCI at Anfi Palace at Muerren and stayed there for 4 nights. The Anfi Palace Murren (1650m) is situated on a sheltered, sunny balcony, high above the Lauterbrunnen Valley, just beyond Piz Gloria (2970m) and 18 kms from Interlaken. The 3 peaks of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau can be seen and appear almost close enough to touch. The village of Murren is one of the few spa resorts worldwide without any car traffic, accessible only by cableway in 10 minutes or by train in 20 minutes. On one day in Muerren it was bright and clear where we stayed and the weather reports spoke of rain . We were amazed when we realised that we were above the clouds . From Muerren , we visited Jungfrau and Interlaken . Most visitors to Switzerland visit atleast one peak be it Mt Titlis , Pilatus or JungFrau . We decided on Jungfrau due to its proximity .

Bern is great for shopping . It has covered shopping areas and that was a blessing for us when it rained . Interlaken is a very charming place and my daughter loved the toy train ride in the park . Lucerne is the place most of us would have seen in the Hindi movies . It is also a must see town in Switzerland .

Most shops close for the weekend and you cannot buy anything from 6 'o'clock Friday Evening to Monday Morning . Finding food is the only difficulty especially for Vegetarians . We lived on Cereal for breakfast , French Fries and Milk Shake for Lunch . I had carried a small rice cooker in which I made rice every night and this meal we enjoyed most . Mc Donalds in Switzerland make Veg Burgers. We were able to locate them at Interlaken , Bern and Zurich .

Switzerland is the most beautiful place on earth where there is perfect harmony between nature and man. Never miss a chance to go there
