SWADES:-What it tells about?

It tells about a man who thinks why should he waste his talent prospering other nations when his own motherland needs it the most?Are NRIs(Non Returning Indians) listening?

About the film:-

No.It is not an anti-brain drain film.Though India is struggling to cope with brain drain issues the film doesn't advice that one should come back to the homeland to do something for it.

The film mainly deals with the social issues like:-

1]Caste System:-

This issue is handled beautifully in the movie.The film does succeed to convey that it is useless to fight with eachothers regarding the caste issue.Instead of fighting with eachother they should come together & unite.This message is given through a well picturized & a meaningful song 'Yeh Tara Woh Tara'.Before this song SRK gives reference of each individual star & convince the people that if they unite these stars they can get any shape out of it.SRK explains this to them by putting 7 individual stars in a shape of 'the plough'(We call this constellation 'Saptarshi',pls correct me if I m wrong).

The message given:-Unite & use this unity to develope yourself & your own nation.

2]Child Labour:-

The notion that children are being exploited and forced into labour, while not receiving education crucial to development, concerns very few people & I think Ashutosh is one of them.AgainAshutosh handles this issue brilliantly.SRK who has not tasted even a single drop of indian water during his visit to india gets emotional & touched when he sees a child selling cups of water at railway station.This empathy has been put up brilliantly on the screen by Ashutosh.

The message given:-Dont surrender your child into the hands of this Devil.Instead make the child literate.Otherwise you will see many children selling cups of water at any station.

3]Illiteracy:-

Both SRK & GEETA(Gayatri) want to get the rid off illiteracy.Both decides to better the lives of the villagers.SRK starts convincing the people that if they remain illiterate,they will not be able to understand the importance & marketing value of their own business/work.But if they get literate they can promote their own business well enough to make more money out of it.SRK also starts interacting with 'Panchayat' & village Chief for the same.Later,he does succeed in his mission.

The message given:-Literate yourself & use it to prove yourself in front of the world & try to compete with others.

4]Poverty:-

The most shameful blot on the face of India.Eradication of poverty can only be a very long-term goal in India.Still Ashutosh dares to handle such a delicate subject.....Kaveriamma(nanny) sends SRK to a village to recover money from a farmer.But farmer explains SRK that he is unable to pay the required rent(Regular payment for the use of land) since he himself is a victim of this shameful blot.This problem starts gnawing SRK at his mind & changes him completely.This is the part where film takes a complete turn & SRK starts concentrating on social issues more seriously.

5]Electricity:-

Better you watch the film on screen to witness how they have succeeded handling this issue.This issue is still troubling lot of parts of India.We witness 'Load Shading',power interruptions,power cuts many times in India.To eradicate such issue we need many Mohan Bhargavs in every part of India.Single Mohan Bhargav cann't handle such issue on his own.

Is Film Boring?

No No.Film was not boring at all atleast for me.May be because the audience we got was sophisticated enough to understand the seriousness of the subject.Film does have funny & entertaining moments.You will definitely enjoy them.

Performance:-

SRK is superb.Gaytri Joshi is mindblowing.During her entry on the screen somebody from the audience shouted ''I LOVE YOU GAYATRI'..Hahahaha,we didn't stop laughing for a minute atleast. Little child(Gayatri's brother) looks innocent & acts stupendously.Ashutosh does succeed in getting the best out of everyone.

Music:-

Good music by ARR.Specially 'Yunhi Chala chal' &'Yeh tara' are the songs u will remember for months to come.Background tune played on 'Mouthorgan' is excellent.If anyone wants the musical notes for this tune M2M me.

Lyrics:-

Wow!!...Lyrics for the song 'Pal Pal Hai Bhari' are touching especially at the end of the song.Who else can pen such wonderful lines? Javed Akhtar has put the words in right place & has penned them according to the situation.

Direction:-

Bravo!!....Ashutosh Gowarikar.My Special Thanks to him.He has tackled the social issues brilliantly.To make a film on such issues is not a joke by any means.Direction is smooth.He has handled such a different subject with amazing ease.He succeeds maintaining the seriousness of the subject while dealing with funny moments.A truly great effort.Who else will dare to make a film on such subjects?

Something About N.A.S.A

Though the film has very few scenes shot in N.A.S.A atleast the average indian audience gets acquainted about the N.A.S.A. and 'Kennedy Space Center'.Thanks to Ashutosh for that.

Should you watch the movie?

Oh Yes!Why not?...This is not a typical bollywood movie that you are bored of watching.So, why cann't give this a try? Go & watch this Great Movie.

Rating:-

A well known indiafm critic has given this movie *1/2,may be because Ashutosh refused to pay the required amount that is needed for 5 stars.But even if somebody bribes me Rs.100000000000..I will not change my rating.This movie definitely deserves Five Stars.

Commercial Success:-

If critics are trying to pull down a Great Film for their own interests,Will the film Succeed?.....Why not? A film is judged by the audience & not by the critics.The movie will definitely be a huge-hit.
