Swades - We the People. Review on Swades

Hats off to Ashutosh Gowarikar and Shahrukh Khan!!! A really good movie!! A movie which is different and has a message to convey.

The Best part about the Movie is the reality which has been shown. There are no artificial sets, no unnecessary make-up. The film has been shot in a village and that village has been shown as it is.

The film focusses on the poverty some villages are facing. It makes you realise that the life is just not in cities . The real ,life is in the villages. More than half of the population of India resides in villages and this film shows what problems the people over there face. It has been shown in the movie that there is still backwardness among our villages, there is lack of basic infrastructure like schools, electricity etc.

This is the story of Mohan Bhargava , played by Shahrukh Khan. He works as a project manager with NASA. He comes to India to take back with him Kaveri Amma, who was his relative. But when he reaches the village in which she is staying, he finds a completely different world. He realises that there is lack of basic facilities and the people are facing extreme poverty. He really feels bad for them and tries to help them out by convincing them to send their children to school and he also sets up a Hydro- Electric Power Plant there with the help of the villagers. He meets a girl, Geeta there. They start liking each other. But she refuses to go with him. Also, Kaveri Amma refuses to go with him.

He goes back to USA. But he soon realises that his heart lies in India. He decides that he should go back to India and do something for his countrymen and he does come back.

Shahrukh has acted really well. The new Heroine ( Geeta in the movie ) is really pretty and has acted well. All the other characters have also played their part well.

Congrats Mr. Ashutosh Gowarikar for making such a nice movie!!
