This must be his worst book to date. One keeps waiting for something to happen and finally....nothing happens. I think the best way to describe this book is 'One big Anticlimax'. There is a very weak plot, virtually nil character development and almost no atmospherics. The best thing about the book is that its a short and easy read - so one doesn't waste ones time for too long. I'm sure John Grisham can do better than this - we've seen great work before as in the Firm, the Rainmaker etc and I'm sure we'll see it again. But The Summons was certainly 'Not Great Work'.
