They claim to be India's leading nationalized bank. They are having the highest number of ATMs all over India along with State bank group banks. But looking towards the security of our deposits, it is a big dilemma and we have to take risk to deposit as the incidents related to hacking is common nowadays. As per the bank policy if any such malpractices occur, bank is responsible to compensate the customers by crediting the account with the same amount. Unfortunately, the sbi staff's policy is to deny the customer by blaming him instead and then he have to go through several steps like police complaint, further enquiry etc and in the end lot of money and time will be lost for that particular person. We have to note that this was not because of his fault. There are several people who had lost huge amount and still waiting for compensation.
Now regarding the SB deposit, if you are depositing to any body's account or even to your account from any other branch other than your own branch, there is a 58 rs transaction fee which no other banks takes.
Another thing which I have noticed is that any one if interested can deactivate our internet banking facility without our knowledge, if he knows our ac number, phone number and user name. There is no password needed or OTP requirement,
Only good thing which I noticed is that there is no minimum ballance requirement.
