Disclaimer:what happens when a guy (read a simple guy) lands in Bollywood just like that? Either he dreams of making it big in movies or he simply watches them as and when have some spare time and money. LOL. I am the second one types. And have landed in Mumbai last week so enjoying the city and the mood as the real work is yet to come my way (may be next week) – Who knows?
Anyways, as I had already seen one movie in the Imax and saw that they too are still running Spiderman 3 which I some how missed while in Hyderabad, I kept my eyes open to see that it shud run one more week before I cud watch it and guess what – one fine Friday not so long after we watched that sugar free romance, wifey asks me “ab kya karenge shaam ko? Koi kaam to hai nahin?” – I said just casually knowing that she will turn it down anyways “Lets go to IMAX and watch Spidey 3”.
To my shock and ultimate horror she says “Let’s go”, that too with a smile – can you believe it?? Even after knowing that they are charging (hell) 200/- for a seat in their Dome theatre. I had never heard nor seen anything like that earlier, so I too was sort of keen to know what exactly this “Dome” thing is, In real life I know what a dome is but how come a theatre?? Where do we sit? On the roof or on the floor and where do they play the movie? On the roof or on the floor? So with lots of confusion I shelled out 400/- (Guess what, my kiddy’s entry is still free – LOL).
Hang on – we did had dinner at that “Sarsoon da saga”dhaba they have inside the multiplex, where they sell one normal parantha @ 30/- bucks but it tastes worth it - that too specially with a yummy typical Punjabi style “Rajma”. I didn’t get opportunity to have my traditional burger as the movie was without a break L
Dome:the moment we enter the theatre – I, my wife and even my daughter was all smiles to see the dome, its nothing but a semi circle in front of the seats which is all white with rectangular cloth sewn together to make a huge huge screen, it was really confusing till they really started the trailers as what and how will we see anything they show.
I was glad and surprised (These mumbaikars keep me surprised all the time) to know that the seating was free and the lights man was more than glad to give me a hint knowing that I am a first timer “Sir jitney upar ja sakte ho chale jao”. I went almost to the top row but compromised it with the 3rd from top.
Again– stood up for national anthem – with full pride – I was happy to see some Koreans sitting right besides us as our national anthem played, they did realized within seconds and stood up too, that’s the power of “Janaganamana”. Mumbai is really a patriotic city and its people too (Read “me”).
Movie: You really want to know how Spidey 3 is?? sure?? OK OK. Go ahead.
I was shocked and surprised to see that Spiderman guy has still not grown up in all those years and still weeps when his girl friend says that their relationship is not working out, Just because he kisses a cute gal (She is HOT), he weeps as if somebody has snatched his candy and he has got no more money to buy anymore, who made him Spiderman yaar?
His friend Harry takes the cake- at least from my side, he is too kool, what a great smile and what an awesome look he has throughout the movie – yeah yeah – Spidey gets all the footage and the gal too in the end.
They have added up some spices like that sand man to get the Spidey going, and that alien stuff too, which enters partly to his body – making him more smart (which was good for sometime) at least for the movie sake, and than spoiling that other temporary worker in the news agency where he works (his girlfriend was even better and more kooler than the girl Spidey gets), same footage story – she doesn’t gets any and the Spidey gal sings songs for which she gets fired (Good better). I didn’t like those Travolta moves on Spidey as he is too short and too shallow for those moves; his new hair style too was not so good.
Again both the new villains really need an explanation as what exactly were they, the sandman was ok a physics particle test gone wrong, but how come even his cloths are being converted into sand particle and again back into cloths, that I am keen to understand yet, second that alien thing, when it enters Spidey it spoils him into a brat and again when it gets out of Spidey and enters his colleague – it makes him spider man, as if it copies all data of Spidey CPU and pastes the same into his colleagues CPU, WOW – Awesome thinking. Can anybody pls help me with that?
As I have already given the cake to Harry, I will go with him as the best unnecessary villain, but a good one at that, as he too fights with Spidey with the help of that ship his dad made, dunno how he gets and repairs it too as in the last movie I guess his dad died of the same destroying it?? or I need to see it again to see what remains of the ship and his ammunition as he has all those things ready with him, I have no idea how he flies with that thing on and controls it, some wi-fi thing may be.
I am also surprised and shocked to see Spidey still riding that mofa kindda bike even in the third installment – C’mon man – we can give him a RX100 at least in this one, last time he was almost runned over by a huge truck – dunno how he repairs and still rides the same, he must be a hell of a mechanic who cant fix up his front door but yet can ride the same old piece of junk even after runned over twice. (Now that’s a new word in MS).
Anyways, it was great seeing all those stunts (Read CGI) as Spidey is no Hrithik / Akshay that he will try even 10% of them in real life, sometimes it was real confusing to see what exactly is happening and what exactly they are fighting for and how? How come he gets hit so many times and nothing happens to him, yet he bleeds at times.
It was heartbreaking to see Harry die in the end that too Big B Style, as he lives till Spidey comes back as if to take the gals hand and give it to Spidey “Bhai khayal rakhiyo iska” types.
C’mon man, what happened to you guys?? And guess what?? That Spidey guy (I am really missing the name) has said that he is not interested in doing the 4th part, I am sure we have a guy amongst us who can play the Spidey ;) think think think or let me tell that in the comments section.
All in all it’s a must watch for some action sequences – but it broke my heart badly to see that – the worst was when my wifey said “Movie is good no doubt, but wo isse aur jaada achchi bana sakte the” – just to keep me happy J
Anything I missed here?? – Consider it not worth telling.
