I work in an environment where mobile phones with camera are not allowed. So I started searching for a mobile particularly with FM and MP3 players within a budget of 2000 rupees. I searched some models in Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson, but all of them either are above 2000 or having only FM radio with a very small screen. So I decided to look for other brands and came across this model.
Advantages:
1) 128 x 160 Pixel CSTN screen
2) Dust resistant Keypad
3) Dual SIM (GSM + GSM)
4) FM Radio with FM recording
5) MP3 Player (also plays AMR and WAV, MIDI Formats)
6) LED Torch
7) Loud external Speaker at the back
8) Memory card upto 2 GB (Not included with the phone. You need to purchase it separately)
9) Calender with Indian panchangam
10) World clock and claculator
11) Mobile Tracker
12) 1000 maH Li-ion battery
These features are almost found in every chinese made mobiles flooding in the market. But what makes this mobile different from others? Well here they are:
1) In most chinese mobiles, if the keypad is locked and when you get a call, only the screen glows up and not the keypad. This is really frustating when you are in dark areas or low lit areas and you need to search for the answer key. But not the case with this mobile as both the keypad and the screen glows up.
2) There is an external speaker at the back and the external audio is diverted to that speaker instead of the headset as such is not the case with many chinese brands. The result is clarity in the audio.
3) Background music / FM playing. When you are listening to a song in MP3 player and when you get a call, your mp3 player stops and indicates the incoming call. When you end the call and return to your mp3 player, it starts again from the beginning of the song. But in this mobile it resumes from where it stopped.
4) You can charge the phone by connecting to USB. Only thing is you need to get the cable as it is not given along with the phone.
5) Brilliant battery backup. For me it lasted around 3 full days with daily 1 hour of FM / MP3 player and total casual calls of less than 1 hour.
Now the drawbacks:
1) Hard Keypad. Not for people who heavily depend on messages.
2) No connectivity with a computer. If you want to load any content to the memory card, you need to take it out, insert in a card reader and then load the content to the card.
3) No separate charging port. Single port for both earphones and charging.
4) Generic Java OS. Cannot install any java applications or games
5) If you are using 2 Sims and is talking on one sim, and if anybody calls on the other sim, they get an engaged tone or not available. You will not get any indication or call waiting that somebody is calling you on the other sim.
6) Slow phone when compared to even basic phones of Nokia or other reputed brands
7) Incomplete manual.
8) Cheap headphones (probably chinese made)
9) Audio is loud in headphones for MP3 player, but above average for FM.
10) If you are using only one sim card and not using the other, there will be a message line on the screen saying "Insert second sim". There is no way to switch off this indication and will be obstructing your wallpaper.
The OS in this one is also generic Java one with some slightly modified things which are quite useful which makes this phone above of the other chinese brands available in the market.
Overall it is a good phone for people who are looking for a phone with memory and MP3 features within a budget of Rs. 2000. I had purchased this for Rs. 1550 in Hyderabad.
