I am writing this review based on my past ten months experience. At my nativeplace we have a SONY M80 model which even after 5 years is giving superb pictures. Based on that experience I bought a M83 model (with woofer) in September 2003. But the clarity we used get in the older model is no longer evident in the new one.
Last week (july 26th) it was noted that the picture started shifting to one side and subsequently shrunk on all sides. From next day onwards it could not be even switched on..
I informed sony service without any delay. But to my dismay, they are yet to come and check the probelm even after a week.
I thought I had a SONY and dont have to think about service. I gather from the phone calls I make to sony wega service that their line is indeed very busy now a days..
I do not know whether mine is a one in million case or is it just the quality taking a back seat now a days.
Will give an update once the problem is fixed.
