Appointing a good service center – Sony Ericsson has a long way ahead…

Writing to inform you guys, that you are the world leaders in the most pathetic and disgusting service for your mobile phones. It’s so disturbing to interact with your most uneducated, incompetent, rude, uncivilized, irritating service centers on planet Earth. You guys should just walk away from the business of manufacturing mobile phones.

Having said that the reason for my frustration at this level is because of your service center in Jayanagar, Bangalore

I bought Sony Ericson mobile phone model # W580i in September 2008 and took very precious care about this mobile phone. I used Bluetooth headset so that the screen does not become dirty. I was really happy with the mobile phone and I updated the mobile phone software whenever there is an update.

I was very happy till last week when my mobile phone screen just turned blank. I went to the service center (SERVICE POINT 652, 11TH MAIN, 4TH BLOCK 41511022/41685888, 9341219066) & they point blank told me it’s a liquid damage. How can my phone sustain a liquid damage when I have kept the mobile in a very good condition?

Having said that I agreed to pay for the repair which came to Rs 2000.00 and was told that I will get the handset in 2 days time. It should be noted that I gave my handset on the 2nd of May and expected delivery on 4th of May. But I did not get any calls on Monday or on Tuesday. So I called them on Wednesday 6th of May and I get to know that these incompetent guys had misplaced my job card details. Finally I was kept on hold while they could retrieve the job card. I had asked my dad to pick up the handset since it was a working day for me. When I reached home & switched on the mobile, the screen was so dark that even after setting the brightness at 100%, I couldn’t read anything on the screen. The letters / fonts appear to be smudged also.

I was so infuriated with this act and I called them on the 7th of May to report this incident and again the incompetent service center executive Ms. Rani or Ms. Vani wanted me to come and give the handset so that they can rectify. I asked this lady why I should bear the cost of travelling around when they screw the service. They are supposed to be good in the service and that would the service level agreement they posses. If they are good at what are supposed to be doing, why should a customer be put at unease?

I asked this lady the same question, & she just disconnected the call. I called again to report her unruly behavior to the floor manager or the service head, but I was refused to be transferred. I was given the most stupid reason that the floor manager is out-of-station. If a service head is out-of-station, wont that person delegate some else to take care of the duties at the center???

I want to make one point clear here. If you guys can’t manage your service center, then please stop manufacturing mobile phones. Else have stringent service level agreements to avoid such cases of incompetency. I am going to go all out on this & start educating people on the kind of service provided to me. I also want people to stop going to service centers like Service Point & burden themselves with issues. Service Point here has committed a crime of cheating the customer by not doing the job. I paid Rs 2000 for completing a job, but they have failed to do this. I have no clue how technically competent are the service engineers of Service Point. If they are good, then I wouldn’t be writing this review.
