Good looking MP3 player but BAD phone. Review on Sony Ericsson W350i

I bought this phone as a gift for my wife a year ago. She was very happy on receiving it as the looks were so good. Everyone who saw the phone praised it. We loved hearing music and other audios on this too. but all that lasted only for a month or so, till the craze was there for a new phone with mp3. The drawbacks started taking centerstage as the time passed. And finally, after 4 months of usage, she got so much frustrated that she replaced it with my old fashioned, no extra features Nokia 3210. Following are my comments about the phone:

Pros:

1. Good Looks: No doubt the looks are good. I got so many praised for its looks. Its very slim phone, mainly good to flash around for girls. The bright lining on the side, if it matches with your party dresss, you may flunk it around.

   
   




2. Good MP3 player. MP3 player is a decent one. Although I m disappointed with the volume when put on a loudspeaker mode. With earphones, the sound quality is good.

   
   




3. Good battery life: Battery life is pretty good. You can use it for 2 days with one charge without MP3 player and good talk time.

   
   

Cons:

1. I am mainly disappointed with its phone features. When we went for a trip to other town, the phone was on roaming. There is continuosly a display of'Emergency calls only' on the screen, and you cannot receive 90% of your calls. There is no way to get rid of this. I discussed it with Sony authorized showroom people too and they could not do anything about it. Seems like inbuild feature. Very frustrating!. Never saw such a feature in Nokia phones. The signal catch quality is very poor. Even in my office., it goes to that'emergency call mode and I miss most of the calls from my friends. They keep complaining about it.

   
   




2. Call Speaker Volume is tooo low. No way to increase the volume when we want to talk while driving or to attend to a meeting on phone. When it rings at high volume, the volume is very loud, but when you want to have the same volume with the calls, it's pathetic. I never like to take calls on this mobile.

   
   




3. Picture quality is bad. but not much to complain about it since I did not buy this phone for that purpose.

   
   

All in all, this is a bad phone but good looking mp3 player. So decide your priority before buying it.
