i am Nizam, Madurai
i have bought my new sony ericsson k320i for
rs.4900(including all extras) -> "Misty silver" -> may 2007
the packageconsists of
1.Mobile hand set
2.Charger
3.data cable and driver CD(common to all sony eric mobiles)
4.national Warranty card 1 year
*K320 is an update for k310 with added bluetooth, datacable
and software CD, and 500rs extra*
I classify the product on 5 aspects ->
STYLE, FEATURES, CHARGE, DISPLAY, LIFETIME
STYLE:
Only in 3 colours, but widely available is Misty silver,
*It looks very attractive and handy for a female or a
smaller armed male (if u are a big guy better go for
Nokia n-series, really looks like 150gm Lifebuoy soap)*
Buttons are well placed, bigger than normal K models
which will be placed deep, this is very easy for msg'ing
You could exhange covers on damage or ur wish for
change in colour could be done with ease
it just weighs 90grams, light in ur pocket tooo.
FEATURES:
built on the same **Symbian core, Sony ericsson's
default UI **, it supports most of the java applications
designed for primitive Nokia phones
Its fade and zoom effectsof icons are cool to watch,
the image-processor underlying is fasterthan Nokia 6600
SURE!, the GIF animated files load and display
accurately as it was in a PC
joystick was good, when compared with k300i or jseries
*Connectivity: Infrared, bluetooth 2.0, USB data cable,
gprs, gsm, *
NO RADIO, NO bundled earphones
CAMERA: is a VGA, but supports upto 1280 pix width
in extended mode, but needs STEADY HAND TO HOLD.
camera, shortcut button is a plus
( same VGA is in 6600 and Moto L series they perform well)
Some things like FRAME shooting, facewarp are cool
inbuilt apps, newsreader etc.
OperaMini could not use GPRS due to some difficulties inside
but the default Netfront browser in fullscreen rocks
It syncs with PC well, Myphone explorer a program PRIVATE
FREE SOFTWARE, is best companion to SE mobiles
GAMES Look and feel good for playing until u use keypads
It has a ringtone MIDI composer, Sound recorder and it can
even record voicecalls
*Contacts: 1000 contacts and each 5 numbers= 2500 contacts!
SMS: total 200 SMS capacity
MEMORY: No extensible - memory slot available, inbuilt 14 MB
is only available, excluding factory stored pics and games*
*AUDIO: Is loud enough for a dayto-day user( but lacks
a punching vibration-alert like nokia)*
*MUSIC: ringtones can be of MIDI, mp3, mp4
there is a media player capable of playing
3gp, mp3, mp4 files, by using jetaudio 6plus
u could store 6 X(6 min) songs @ 22khz/32kbps/mp3 pro/mono
with no loss in quality in external back speaker*
when the back panel removed there is a slot for
external aerielto fit in,
DISPLAY:
128*160 pixel display, they say it as UBC ultra bright colour
(it just fades to almost nothing in daylight)
(Motorola L series are sharp always than other phones)
Image quality is fair, but there is some loss of smoothing
( image tearing effects occour, in k750i it was best)
Any size image is rendered FAST and maximized
Fonts are crisp and big, so it gives only 3 lines to the
SMS text area, ( unlike nokia we could switch to 2 font
size even in basic nokia 3100)
CHARGE:
If u just talk, it comes for minimum 2 1/2 hours continuous SURE
the real battery eaters are Vibration and external speaker, avoid them
display impacts only mnimal load
standby time is dependent on the distance from the nearby cell
tower solely, but normally 36 - 48 hours MAX
battery is a 750mAh Li-ion, one lighter and smaller,
( charges in 30-40 minutes, )
LIFETIME
Minimum 18 months from buy, only fault u will receive is
joystick fault after 8 months of heavy SMS usage
Resale value will be always lower than Nokia, but surely
higher than motorola, LG, Samsung, benq
My conclusion:
at < 5000rs this is a best buy! u will find it really fast in
operation than similar phones in this budget
So its a must buy if u search a phone in this range
