J200i from Sony Ericsson.

A nice phone and value for money.

Hi friends, it has been a long time since I have written my first article. This time I want to share my experience with Sony Ericsson J200i cell.

The J200i is a one of the best device in its category, and its really value for money. J200i has a quite attractive design, two tone body colors with metallic finish - front-half panel. That makes it really cute, everybody who saw the phone for the first time can't stop themselves to pick up the phone in their hands. It comes in two shades - white and dark blue (sorry I don't remember the actual nomenclature of these two shades). I had the dark blue shade.

Its strong features are - it is a triple band cell - GSM 900/1800/1900 , it simply means even if you go abroad then also the phone will support the network features in most of the countries. The display quality is really good - though the color it displays is only 4096 colors but the quality of the images displayed is quite good, yeah, there is minor problem that the pictures having a lot of shades(shadows) are not displayed properly. The display resolution is 128 X 128 pixels, the pixels are of slightly bigger size, then also the are very nicely arranged to give quite a good result. Those who already use the cell and find that the colors displayed are a bit faded , they should set the contrast to 0/9 or 1/9 and then observe the colors , definitely you will find better colors and shades. The phone has quite well defined software for WAP surfing, I saw the Airtel Live portal and I really enjoyed the site provided by Airtel and its quite easy to download through WAP also, thanks Airtel !

The themes are also good - a collection of four themes, except one theme all the themes are excellent, choose according to your mood. The best feature of the phone is the sound output, the phone has real 40 tones polyphonic dedicated speaker, after you hear the sound you will be delighted whether its a phone or a musical instrument, the sad thing we can store only a few of the polyphonic ring tones, oh Sony Eric why don't you provide more memory to store a lots of lovely sounds and images in cute J200i. Joystick operation is quite cool, makes the operations quite easy.

Now the dark side of the phone - now too dark actually, first and foremost thing is - it has a only two days of battery back up, Sony Ericsson please increase the battery back up and that too without effecting the performance of the cell, second thing is the cell hangs - up , especially chances of hanging up is more while playing games but not on a routine basis , downloads aren't allowed for Games, themes, we can download only ring tones and pictures. The facility to download games, themes should be provided.

More of good features - infrared port (a boon for interacting with your friend's cell - provided his/her cell should also have IR). Also , use infrared adapter and transfer any compatible file(pictures and ringtones) from your PC to your phone, and of course, the call-blocking feature of Sony Ericsson, if at some point of day you don't want any calls or you have desire to attend the phone call of certain near and dear ones then select from the list and you will receive only their calls and other undesirable calls will be blocked (they will hear user-busy tone) - useful while watching a movie or when you are with someone special ;-) , I forgot to mention that it is a very compact phone, and its design makes it look even more compact.

So, overall I will rate this phone as 4/5 as compared to other cells in its class and price range. And, what's your opinion?
