Update 1: This review was posted at 5 pm yesterday. At 6 pm I got a dispatch notification. This evening I received the item and It has a gaping hole or tear at the seams.


Attached is a picture of what was delivered to me.


Within minutes of receiving the product, I emailed a couple of pictures of the damaged or defective items to Snapdeal.com asking them to return and refund. I thought I'll post the pics while I wait for their response.


So far I was wondering if they are inefficient, irresponsible and cheats. They went out of the way to prove that yes they are and went two steps ahead and proved that they are also kabadiwalas.

A few weeks back, I placed an order, making an online payment on Snapdeal.com (cod option was not available for this purchase).


When the product didn't get dispatched after the shipping date and there was no communication from them about it I wrote to them.


Every time they kept telling me they couldn't procure the item and they’ll take 3 more days. Every time they told me that if they could procure the product they’ll send it, otherwise they’ll cancel the order.


I wrote to them that I will be travelling soon and I need that product for the trip. Besides, by the time they’ll procure it and then send it, I won’t be there to take delivery of the product. So, I requested a cancellation.


Now it’s been two weeks I have written to them quite a few times since but they keep sending the same email saying they will send the product whenever they can procure it, otherwise they’ll cancel the order.


Now because of their irresponsible, deliberate dilly-dallying, there’s not enough time to get the product from another online shopping portal. I’m travelling tomorrow. Plus, it’s a very niche product (camping gear) that’s not easily available offline in all cities. So, now I have to travel without the product.


Snapdeal.com is neither capable of delivering the product nor are they willing to cancel the order and refund. I don’t know if they are very inefficient or they just don’t understand how to do business or they’re simply thieves.


What I do know is that I’m very anti-snapdeal.com after this experience. Even on other shopping portals, I’m not going to buy anything unless it has cash on delivery option.


I have contacted a lawyer friend in case they don’t refund even after the legal notice I've emailed them. If you or anyone you know has been cheated by this portal, please inbox a personal message. It might help.
