Its once in a decade or so get to watch a movie that touchs the cords of your heart, gives you gooseflesh and an hangover. Once such movie for me is “slumdog millionare”. I went to watch this movie with lot of expectations after all the hype and I was not let down.I relished every minute of the movie. The story of a slum kid, who gets on to a game show not for money but to find his love. All charectors in the movie are well-crafted and so intense. All the actors in the movie are stars. My favorite is the kid – the youngest Jamal. The youngest Jamal and salim are the best child artists I have ever seen. The expressions of these kids running along the garbage hills or selling ballons and candies on local trains.they were the best in the movie. The kid – Ayush(youngest Jamal) is the heart of the movie, my heart went out for him and wished I could rip the screen and get to him and give him a hug and say sorry for all that he went through.Jamal’s love for Lathika is the soul of this movie. My best scene in the movie is the youngest Jamal emerging out of the toilet smeared with excreta shouting “Amithaaaab Bachaaaaan” The movie makes every Indian’s heart weep when the begger kid is blinded. Dev Patel’s acting is commendable. All the seasoned actors – Irfan Khan, Anil Kappor, Saurab Shukla and Mahesh Manjerekar have done a good job.I found Freida Pinto mediocre in the movie. Many people may say – this is the real India.I don’t agree, it’s a part of India .You can say this is also India…Slums, begger children, prostitutions.are said and done.we are moving towards a better India.Thats what keeps us going!
