Getting a good internet connection is really tough in India, especially with providers like Sify hanging around. The connection I took was 256 kbps day, 512 kbps night unlimited.
Well, after the first month, nothing was good. Sometimes, their equipment got faulty, at other occasions they themselves were doing some changes or due to even mild rain and winds, the connection diminished to 1-2 KBps download speed or failed to connect at all!
Due to these problems, average availability was only 20 days in a month and even during those 20 days, speed was merely 15-20 kbps at day and 40-45 kbps at night. Other problem is that the connection is locked with a single network adapter. So when my desktop was out at night.
I couldn't use my laptop because no one was available at the Sify office to open the hardware lock. This is a very irritating restriction. As for the service, you call them for some problem you are facing and they take a week to respond. They call themselves the best internet service providers?
