I had just heard the name of Shatabdi Express but I never knew nothing about it , on Sept 18th 2009 to celebrate my birthday I was on my way to marisol resort daman and I booked tickets through irtc for my wife and me , we selected Shatabdi Express as it suited our schedule , I booked two tickets from ( borivali to vapi )
We arrived at borivali at 6:30 am expecting the train to be late , it was bang on time , that impressed us , then when we entered the train , we were very impressed by the look , space and the fact that it was so clean
My wife thanked me for booking Shatabdi Express but I told her honestly that I had no idea how awesome this train would be
As the journey started we kept being treated by breakfast , coffee , snacks , juices … it was an awesome experience. It took us around an hour and 30 mins to reach Vapi and we were very happy with the entire experience
This journey became even more special for us because on our return from Vapi to Borivali the next day we boarded Saurashtra Express and that horrible experience made the experience with Shatabdi extra special for us
To start with Saurashtra Express arrived 20 mins late which was fine cause that’s what we were expecting , our reserved seats were occupied by a family who were fast asleep and were taking forever to vacate our seats all the while groaning and complaining that they had to vacate our seats, the train stopped more times than it was running at all signals and most stations, it took us 4 hours to travel from vapi to borivali which we would not have had a problem with if we hadn’t had the awesome Shatabdi Express experience
All said and done , my wife and I have become huge fans of the Shatabdi Express and we are looking forward to get on board Shatabdi Express again and probably again :- )
