Should he continue playing test cricket? - Question put forth by pinpong.
Probably yes. He should try but I doubt he will be taken unless one of the premier openers are injured or something. personally I feel he should be a member of every pak ODI side because of his explosive array of cricket shots nad his potential of running away with the game in the first 15 overs.
If he wants he can play orthodox shots but his approach to batting is aggressive and if he changes it, it will not help him. I for one feel that he is a good bowler as well. His flippers have a Kumble-like feel to them. But I think that his faster one or the one that he throws/chucks is a real disgrace. He should be called no-ball and the matter should be taken seriously as it is not his action at fault so much as he delibrately chooses to do it.
He will also have to behave properly if he wants to remain in the team. His cockiness and smirks may endear him to the opposite sex but the senior players in his sides are miffed by it.
Overall I feel he has a lot of potential. His amazing power in clearing the fences can only help. If only he had better focus and determination he would make a good test batsman and a bit of consistency would make him a better bowler. Also I seriously doubt his age. All pakistanis seem to lie about their age so that they can make the under 19 teams and then play international cricket longer.
