I wanted to try scripbox.com which promises to help and automate investment in selected mutual funds. They have their own method of selecting the funds though one can choose ones' own too; but that will simply defeat the purpose.
The results have been good over past few years. I exchanged some mails with the site administrators(asking basic questions) and poking around the site and the net to research more about its suitability for me.
I found two areas which I hope the site owners will adopt. I for one, will invest only if they do there two improvements. These are:-
Permit joint ownership of investments. Almost all financial advisors promote joint holding of investments. Surprisingly, the site does not support this, only single holdings permitted. I am not comfortable with that.
Works on CY Instead of FY. Our investments are tuned to work on financial year basis since that is how we consolidate our earnings and taxes but the site works on calendar year basis. maybe they should amend this.
Apart from these 2 aspects I find the idea good and workable.
