After Naach and couple of last movies produced by the RGV factory.... Sarkar was a great relief. An honest inspiration from the legendary ''The Godfather'', Ramu has done justice to the epic to the fullest.
''Amitabh - The God'' has again ruled the movie till the first half of the movie only to pass the bait to his worthy successor - junior Bacchan - Abhishek. The father-son chemistry is superb and we should give kudos to Abhishek for his amazing transformation from Refugee to Sarkar. He has shown his maturity and depth of acting with great style and flair that has suited his role as Shankar Nagde.
The movie starts with Subhash Nagde or (appropriately Sarkar) as the modern day Robin Hood of Mumbai, who lives on the heart of common man. He rules his empire with his principles and through his group of die-hard loyalists and operates a parallel government. Enter, Rashid a comeback mafia from Dubai who seeks approval to operate his business from Sarkar but the denial turns him arch rival. This leads to an intricate conspiracy against Sarkar and a temporary crisis in his family. Situation leads Shankar – a modern, US educated graduate – to a suave inheritor of the legacy. For a change there was no song and except for few scenes of distraction (Kartina-Abhishek and Tanisha) the movie was compact and gripping.
The background score and screenplay was amazing. The castings were superb and each character suited the role by the “T”. Technically, I don’t there is any scope of complaints and all the department of the RGV factory has performed in an orchestrated manner with their Maestro. Well I am still having the hang-over of the movie……and itching to watch it again.
