My parents from their LIC fund and based on our opinion purchased samsung LED TV ES5600 32INCH in November 2012. Its been 1 yr 8 months of normal usage.
But with my parents switching off the TV whenever there is lightening etc, the display panel has blacked out with lines appearing on the TV. The samsung people will provide service and replace the panel for Rs 12, 200 ! Which has got a warranty of 3 months only. and samsung customer relation officer says that the company does rigorous quality checking for their products.
I wonder if this is the shelf life(1Yr 8 month) of a 37000 worth TV, then its better to go for Old Box TV which used to be of shelf life of 10 years.
