India Made Easy !. Review on Samachar

Ignorance is Bliss.Well .not quite true if we interpret that in the wrong sense.Knowledge is Power.And it is imperative that we all keep abreast of what is happening around us. But not all of us have the time(or may be the patience?!) to grab a newspaper along with our morning's steaming cup of coffee.Nor do we have the time to watch the news telecast on the Telly, amidst numerous commercial breaks.(during which we switch channels and eventually land up in some other more interesting but less informative programme).

Most of us who fall under the aforesaid category, do have constant and good access to the internet. Samachar.com is one site which looks like a gist of many magazines put together. This site consist of excerpts from many newspapers like Times of India, The Hindu etc.That is for the overall general news. .There are specific columns for Astology, Cookery, Sports, Movies etc which would invoke more interest in this site.

ENTERTAINMENT NEWS:

There is a column for Sifymax.in which details all the Filmi gossips, with even video clippings.The anchors who give a 2 minute update on Bollywood news are quite lively and make their cameo presence felt. There are Reviews, Previews, True fights between stars, Media hyped Fights between stars, Make-ups/break-ups.Of not only Bollywood, but many regional film industries too.There is Photo Gallery featuring many Beaming Beauties, in case anyone is looking for a screensaver!

*BUSINESS NEWS:

*      Here too, we have The Economic Times, Forbes and few other Headline news about the happenings in the Trade and Commerce Fields. There is the LIVE MARKET REPORTS which gives an updated picture of the NSE and BSE indices. There is some light thrown on the  Latest Technology news as well.

SPORTS:

When it comes to Sports(Cricket in particular), nothing can beat watching the live match, or the Highlights of any match if the play is missed. But to have varied information about sports, this column is really good.

As far as Cookery Section is concerned, the specialist sites like Tarla Dalal, Mahanandi, Bawarchi are far more efficacious. There is an Astrology Section as well, which again details in few regional languages.

This is one website which would be of utmost use for the people sitting outside India, as it gives many info at the click of the mouse. The most evident drawback however is this site does not have an in depth information about World News. It would be better if there is a separate section for World News, instead of generalising that with the Headlines detailed. They have tried to be Jack of all trades.(can't exactly say they are master of none though!) This website would certainly feed the hungry brains, craving for information in multiple fields.
