You may love him, you may hate him, however, you can never ignore Salman Khan. No matter if this issues are bad or good reasons, Salman Khan always hits news for things he does. However, his star-power at box-office is no doubt big. Despite big or small films, Salman Khan can deliver it at box-office, proving he is one of Bollywood bankable star. According to latest sources, Salman Khan has the largest fan-following in India right now, beating SRK and Aamir. Wow, despite controversy, Salman Khan can still kick butt, proving his fans will always be loyal to their hero.

His career began on a bang with his second film which became the biggest hit in the 1980s, the blockbuster Maine Pyar Kiya. Salman Khan and Bhagyashree deliver a knock-out performance in this classic film that appealed to the youth crowd and older generation. Maine Pyar Kiya is also the biggest selling album in the 1980s. A great start for Salman Khan. His next four releases Baaghi, Sanam Bewafa, Patthar Ke Phool and Kurbaan were all success at box-office proving that the trade has him as a future superstar. In 1991, Salman Khan struck gold at the box-office with the classic Saajan. Saajan got Salman Khan good reviews and the soundtrack was a super hit all over India. Salman Khan started to deliver flops, until Hum Aapke Hain Koun came and proved to be the turning point of his career. Hum Aapke Hain Koun was biggest Hit in Bollywood history, and still is upto this day, and helped Salman Khan a lot. In the same year of 1994, he deliver a next classic with the hilarious Andaz Apna Apna. Salman and Aamir shined in this film, and Salman Khan got good reviews for this film, which proved that Salman can shine in comedy. His next release was hugely successful, entitled Karan Arjun that released in 1995. It starred both SRK and Salman Khan. Both Khans proved that if they are together, they can create a Dhoom at the box-office. However, it was Salman Khan who stole the film by getting the nomination for the film. In 1996, he came up with the classic Khamoshi, however despite the good reviews Khamoshi got for Salman Khan, it was a flop at box-office. His next two films struck instant gold at box-office, Judwaa and Jeet. Jeet earned Salman Khan a lot of good reviews and Judwaa prove Salman Khan abilities. Both were Hits at the box-office. However, the best years

for Salman Khan were 1998 and 1999. In 1998, with four releases, all of them struck gold at the box-office. Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya, Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai, Bandhan and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai earned Salman Khan excellent reviews, and Salman Khan won the best supporting actor award for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The trade has 1999 as Salman Khan year. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Hum-Saath Saath Hai and Biwi No.1 were the top three grossing films of that year, and all of them had one common factor, Salman Khan, and were all Hits at the box-office. 2000 was okay year for Salman Khan as he had two success that year, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge and Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega. It was HDJPK that won him good reviews. Despite one film in 2001, it still did good business at the box-office, entitled Chori Chori Chupke Chupke. Salman Khan won good reviews for that film. In 2002, he still manage to wrap up one success with Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam. However, it was 2003 that brought back our box-office hero back into shape. His first release was easily Salman Khan career best performance in Tere Naam, and despite having competition with Koi Mil Gaya, it was a big Hit at the box-office. His next film Baghban was a Super-Hit at box-office and Salman Khan won a lot of acclaim for his role as the adopted son. 2004, also a good year for Salman Khan as he had four releases that year, and two were success at the box-office (Garv and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi) and two were flops (Phir Milenge and Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha), however despite that, each of the four films earned Salman Khan good reviews for each film. 2005 is proving to be Salman Khan year as so far he has two releases and both were Hits at the box-office with Lucky and Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya. The future is looking good for Sallu as he has No Entry, Kyunki, Marigold and Jaaneman coming up.

He's one great crowd puller to reckon with. I thought there are some actors are closer but looking at his last two openers with Lucky and Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, Salman Khan can open up a film to 11cr+ . No other no actor except SRK ,with big banners, has done this, I'm talking about solo films, not multistarers. ...With big or small banner films, good music or bad music, popular actress or a newcomer, good director or bad director, Salman Khan rules, and can deliver it anyhow at the box-office. Look at it, despite the tape issue, Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya is a Hit, proving that Salman Khan has star power at the box-office. You sometimes wonder if his fan-following increase due to the controversy that has happen to him. However, Salman Khan is a name Bollywood won’t forget as he is our modern day box-office hero.
