Sack Him….

I don’t know why have the media and the people being so generous in their words on Sachin? Why there is such a muffled tone that says that Saching is past his best? Why don’t people come out in open and say it aloud… “SACK HIM”!!!!

Reasons for sacking? Who needs reasons in India (or for that matter anywhere in the world) anyway? Who needed reasons when half the Indian Hockey Team was sacked? Who needed reasons when almost all Indian captains to Pakistan were sacked after every series loss?

But still, let me enunciate a few grounds for sacking him.

Sack Him….. He plays only for himself

The so called little master has always played for himself and never for the country. The simple proof behind this is the fact that he has scored so many centuries.

Don’t you get it? In order to be a great team player, you should not make or break records…. Keep on scoring runs in 70s and 80s and give chance to the next batsmen…. They also deserve to make a few runs…. Even if the rest of the team have often failed to score anything decent… Still it was the duty of Sachin to get out before he scored a 100 or made any records!!

Is this man crazy? How the hell can he make so many records in his name and not gove chance to others to make some records too?

And how many times has India lost after he scored centuries? Its secondary that other players failed to contribute. But the primary reason behind India’s loss was “Why did Sachin score a century”? “Why could not be an average failure like the others?”

Yes, he is self centered. Hey, forget about his innings against Kenya after his father’s death or the one man army at Sarjah…. There must be his hidden personal agend behind those innings. I will post them as soon as his critics come up with the answer.

Sack Him…. He is not a good captain

Of course…. In Indian team, it has been very critical that a good player must always be a good captain. Its kind of a promotion ladder. If you are not a good captain, what should the team do with you?

Every time one captain failed, the captaincy was thrust upon this little man. He took that up (why the hell did he?). And he failed in his batting as well as a captain. Lets ignore the simple coincidence that during 1990s, Sachin’s failure with bat meant the failure of the team as a whole. But the fact remains that he was often a losing captain.

Azharuddin was such a successful captain with almost the same team… Almost in the sense, the team composition was the same, but the quality of Sachin without being a captain was awesome and there was no stopping.

So what? How does that matter? Remember.. he was playing only for himself???

Sack Him…. He is over hyped

Hey, why has there been so much spotlight on him? Whats the big deal if he scored 25000 odd runs and 70 odd centuries. No one should be so popular. Its insane and in human. Every person on earth should be the equal mediocre person. Else the fun of competing is getting lost.

Why sports alone? Every time a man (or a woman) has risen above mediocrity and has become a celebrity, the world has preferred to assassinate him/ her or to put in exile. For this little man, sacking alone should be enough.

Sack Him… He is past his prime

Is it not clear that he is past his prime? He is no more scoring a century in every other match, nor is he sending a maiden last over to win the match.

Of course, every player must be uniformly great through out his career. The moment there is a downside, sack him. Even if, the Sachin past his prime means better then 70% of the batsmen in the world…. Still he is no comparison to the Sachin of 1990s. So why keep him in the team?

Sack Him…. He is a gentleman

We do not deserve kind, compassionate gentlemen in team, who are not often quoted in newspaper for their flamboyant statements. We will prefer to have someone, who makes controversial statements… we are the ancestors of people who loved to see man being eaten alive by lions at Roman Olympics. We have been blood thirsty for ages.

Hence, while batting at 194* the innings was declared by the captain, this gentleman came back silently, without uttering a word. We would have preferred to see him blast out at the stand-in captain and would have loved to see them fight. It was truly an utter disappointment.

Same goes for the several wrong decisions when he was batting (especially in Australia) when he walked out without even looking at the umpire. We don’t want such people in the team who can not do a little bit of fight on the field to entertain us. We would rather have a Denis Lilee and Javed Miandad who hit out at each other on the field.

Sack Him… We have done it in the past…

Don’t debate with me saying that we need precedence to do such things. Why? Didn’t Australia drop an in form Steve Waugh? Is not Pakistan keeping out Sohaib Akhtar whenever the selectors please?

Even in India, how can we forget Mohinder Amarnath? The man was dropped from the team after being judged Man of the Series at Sarjah in 1987. He had rightly called the selectors “A Bunch of Jokers”. Why are they not dropping Sachin this time?

Sack him…. We need a change

Hey…. I am bored by seeing the same old name for past 20 years almost… Give me a break… Lets have some new face…. Probably, a playboy kind of a person who can make news both on and off the filed…. How he plays does not matter. Sack Sachin and get in some change.

There are several other reasons to go on. A few I am just mentioning below…

Sack Him… Don Bradman Liked Him

Sack Him…. He finds a mention in every “Greatest Cricket XI”.. its insane

Sack Him…. He does not play Ranji any more

Sack Him…. He is not a Pin-up Celebrity

Sack Him…. He owns a Ferrari

Sack Him…. He does too many advertisements

Sack Him…. He drinks Pepsi (He does not? Ok, then sack him because he does not drink Pepsi)

Sack Him….

The reality is sad but true… We, the people, who put him at a celebrity status beyond comparison, are the same lot who are longing to see him fall down because of a few misses over last couple of seasons. We have failed to show our respect and trust in a man, who has saved us so many embarrassments.

But lets not forget, it does not take long for a man of his stature to bounce back. He is a wounded tiger….

Come back Sachin, we love you..
