This review is about the Royal Challenge in Gokuldham,Goregaon East in Mumbai.
We happened to have a get together there very recently and it was fun. I thought it would be nice to share this with my friends.
Firstly its a huge restaurant. It consists of about three floors including a terrace to sit. The atmosphere is cool and well very comfortable. They aim to please. :):)
We were a large group so it was difficult to place us immediately... do make reservations before going in large groups.. our meeting was impromptu... but we were glad that they placed us very quickly and very comfortably... I was impressed that they could come up with something with such a short notice.
Monsoon was just starting in Mumbai so the terrace was out of the question. Anyway the food in this place is good. We had Indian Food. There were quite a large variety of Indian Food, Shorbas, Biryanis, etc. The Chinese menu was kind of restricted... The starters menu was also impressive.
I would recommend you to try out the Indian non veg curries, like Methi Murgh, Murgh Kadai, Murgh Tikka Masala, etc. In rice items you can try out Jhinga Biryani and the Veg Biryani.
If you are a die hard Chinese food fan, you can go for Vegetables with Wontons.. it has got great taste... :)
There is a wide variety of cocktails and mocktails. I would recommend Pina Colada in mocktails and Blue Lagoon in cocktails(if you are Vodka person).
As far as the service goes, it was fast and tasty. My friends were all happy eating there and they were satisfied with the food and the service.
The price maybe a little on the expensive side.. but if you are in a large group ( go Dutch :) ) or if you go out for a company dinner, it should be okay... :):)
Try out this place.. I am sure you will like it ...
PS: Go slow with the Indian food combinations.. donot try too many combinations all at once.. your stomach may rebel :):)
