Plot:

Cinematography:

Roy is slow, torturous and boring film. Long run time and slow pace kills the audience interest in sometime as the film begins. The twist and turn which was specially meant to grab audience actually leave them in a dilemma what is this film all about?  Roy is a slog to sit through with too many unnecessary songs and diversions and not enough moments to thrill or entertain.

Story:

Roy is a story of Kabir( Arjun Rampal) who plays a commercial filmmaker who is working on his next film Guns(part three). His stories are inspired by the master thief Roy played by(Ranbir Kapoor) who deals in art heists and is on the run from the cops.  Kabir begins crafting third installment of his film based on Roy’s character. He romances another film-maker, while Roy gets jiggy with an actress; these both roles are played by Ayesha and Tia(Jaqueline Fernandez).

Star Performances:

Arjun Rampal: He is terrible in the film, he is just not convincing in the role of a filmmaker. Major part in the film shows him with cigarettes and drinking alcohol.

Ranbir Kapoor:  He looks like he was punished and forced to be in this movie by Vikramjit Singh; it's such a sullen performance by him.

Jacqueline Fernandez: Unfortunately, she appears miscast in a part that required greater range.

Anupam Kher:  A great potential actor in Bollywood but completely wasted in this film.

Other Supporting Cast: Rajit Kapoor is fine with his small part, Mandana  Karimi and Cyrus Broacha is just OK in the film.

Songs:

Even if the songs pop up in not all the right places the only strength of the film is its terrific soundtrack as especially Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan and Tu Hai Ki Nahi which is doing extremely well on the music chart list.

Best Scenes:

There is hardly or nothing in this film that you can term as a best as you lose interest in the film within 15 minutes of the film.

Final Verdict:

After going to hell torture for the two and a half hour, here are my couples of questions for the makers of the film. Who wrote it? What was the idea behind making this film? And for whom is this film for? This film is highly recommended only if you want to use the auditorium for a relaxing.

Ratings:

I'm going with one out of five.  1/5 stars for this film.
