Okay first of all forget about how much you may hate Bill Gates or how much you know of him. Go back to the times when he was liked a lot better.

The book is filled with interesting and also exciting information about today’s as well as possible future technology.

The best thing about this book is that Gates writes everything in plain English. No technical mumbo jumbo like TCP/IP or Socket 7 architecture. I read this book when I was first learning how to click a mouse button way back in 1997. And I loved it.

Don’t let the talk about technology fool you into believing that all Gates will talk about is how technology will affect us in the future. In the course of talking about his vision he has used incidents from his life. One incident talks about the strange reason for which America’s most famous investor ,Warren Buffet’ got hooked onto computers. Another talks about how his methods of getting A grades in college did not help him when he first started Microsoft .These and a few other anecdotes from Gates’ life make the book all the more interesting. Remember this is the same guy who wrote a lecture scheduling program for his school that placed in him in the classes with the right girls!(This incident is not mentioned in the book.)

This is the same guy who did the unthinkable by dropping out of Harvard to start Microsoft.

For those who are more serious about the information technology Gates presents a lot to think about. Imagine a situation where you can request for and watch future episodes of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. through the internet. Imagine a house that will identify guests and change the ambient music and even the paintings on the wall to suit that particular guest. At the time of writing of this book Gates was already building this house for himself and he gives an exciting account of it in this book.

Gates’ writing style is simple, light, and punctuated by subtle humour. This makes the book ideal for anyone who might be curious about the internet and its applications.

By the way I bought this at a second hand store which explains the price. Sorry I forgot to mention it earlier. I apologise to all who read my review. Enjoy!
