Value for Money Car. Review on Renault Kwid

Kwid 1.0 is the best entry level car available in India. This car is from Renault which is from France. I really like its stunning SUV look. It is affordable and way ahead from its competitors in almost all the field. The new 1.0lt engine churns out 67bhp, with a torque of 91 NM rorque. It is far more powerful than its older version. It has a ground clearance of 180mm which a plus point on Indian roads. Let’s not forget 300-lt boot. I also like double tone ORVMs which is a new addition, mirror quality is also good. RXD variant costs Rs. 3.83 lakh in delhi and RXD(o) will be 14-15k expensive.(ex. showroom).

Perhaps, it is having the best cabin in its segment. It is more spacious and seating inside is comfortable. The touch screen infotainment system provides a feel of luxury car. Driver side airbag is only available in it RXT(o) variant. Dual air bag is still missing, even in the optional variant. ABS is still missing. Digital meter is also catchy. Back row seating space is also just okay. My height is 5.9” and I fit ii it easily. For luggage we have 300lt boot.

Company claimed that this 999cc engine will provide 23kmpl mileage; I have found it is more or less the same but obviously it is less in urban areas. Executing overtake on highways is less stressful than its 0.8 ltr engine even with 4 or 5 person are sitting inside. The car performs well even after hitting 100km/h speed.

Kwid is a reliable car. It is bestselling car from the Renault and it has sold more than 1 lakh units since its launch in October 2015. Company is very aggressive with Kwid. Renault is also launching this car in other countries.

My verdict on this car is, if you have budget of 4 lakh, then this car is for you. It is a modern car which target youth. You don’t feel cheated after buying this. Also I suggest company to add extra airbag and ABS, we will welcome it even if you provide in the optional variant.
