Fresh !!!. Review on Reliance Fresh, Hyderabad

What do you expect when one of the biggest business houses of India starts selling vegetables? You expect something like "Reliance Fresh", an airconditioned vegetableone stop shop, with fantastic service all across the nation(soon they are going to capture the market) same way they did it in Telecom sometime back.

What is it?- Its nothing but a new generation vegetable shop where you get almost pin to plane of eatables, be it regular potato / onion to the bestest of foreign cheese, fruits or non veg items, be it milk, bread or break fast items or may it be a little of small durable kitchen items like napkins knives etc. The Hitech one stop shop for all your eatable needs, I am impressed with the number of items they have and the kind of service they are offering.

Where is it? - In my city - Hyderabad they have plans of opening up almost a dozen outlets and a couple of them are already working in good shape - the one I visited is a stone's throw away from my home in KPHB - Vivekananda Colony. Go inside Vivekananda Statue - keep going straight - till you start thinking that it shud not be this inside in some colony - you will see it right on the left hand side with typical green reliance board saying "Reliance Fresh". Its a corner plot hence two sides are good for two wheeler parking and they have basement parking available too.

How is it?- Its damn good, just pick up a basket and start shopping, pick up as much as u want as weight is not an issue, roll that polythene roller and tear it off - fill it with enuff quantity of veggies you wanna buy and stuff it in the basket, different veggies go in diff poly packs and kept separately. They have installed almost 4 - 5 digital weighing machines so you can even weigh the veggies you are buying if you want in specific quantities, thats indeed a good idea. Even fun too, my cell is 110 GMS and my wallet weighed almost 160 GMS:) that was before we were billed:(

Membership?- The moment you finish off shopping and move towards one of the 2 cash counters - the guy or lady will ask you politely "Member saar?" - if you say no - he will immediately hand you over a membership pamplet and request you to go to the custome care counter fill it up and hand it over, Its just 5 minutes task to fill it and get your membership card done, this card will give you one point for every 100 bucks of shopping and one point is equivalent to 1/- and can be encashed once you have more than 25 points in your account and the points are valid for 2 years.

Billing -They have two cash counters, service guys are pretty fast, We almost bought like 12 Kgs of Vegetables and fruits and they billed us in a jiffy, amount came out to be around 205/-(just got two points:(). Even the poly packs they give are quite good quality, can hold till you reach home, even if you carry them in your hands:) - Bill too is a computer generated printout giving all the details about weight, quantity and price.

Membership gives you some more advantages likeFree home delivery, shop on phone and cash off vouchers too. On achieving certain targeted spend / visits you will receive an attractive personalized relianceone membership card with some delightful offers. Also this membership which is free of cost gives you a personal accident insurance worth Rs. 50, 000/-.

Now tell me - was buying vegetable ever that much fun and advantageous? I dont think.

Some additional Important points from wifey:Vegetables are cheaper than the usual vegetable market. Look at the way they have kept it. They are more fresh / clean than she has ever bought in any of the vegetable markets in the last one year or more. Variety too. First time in our stay in Hyderabad that we got a Red Cabbage. Some strange looking potato type things - I still dont know what was it neither I bought it. Even the bags they pack your goods in are of good quality.

My recommendation -One should give them atleast one visit and I am sure whomsoever goes once will keep on going on regular basis provided its not too far from where you live.
