We went from Mumbai via Chennai and reached there at 5.00 hrs. took an auto (Rs.40) and alighted near the temple. After checking various hotels on the front side of the temple whch were all sold out we went at the backside gate and fortunately got a room in Hotel Maharaja (Rs.400) just because it was on the 3rd floor (without lift).

After freshning we went to the temple for darshan but did not try agri theertham as the water seemed to be very dirty only the Kunds in the temple were good. There is no rush at that time so after our darshan we enquired about Dhanushkodi (auto charges 400). We took a bus (tkt Rs.6) from front of the temple and thought it is 20 km we reached in exactly half an hour. This place should not be missed at any cost. Both side seas are totally different.

One side is shallow with no waves while the other side is deep with wild waves but clear blue water. At the end of the road we alighted and enjoyed the beach and could also watch the fisherwoman catching fishes in the shallow water. The beaches are clear white with various shapes of shells allover. On return we alighted near the temple and took an auto (Rs.150) for 5 temples darshan. The first was Ram Zharoka which is hardly 2 kms but you can have a veiw of the entire city from the top floor, not to be missed. The other places were sita kund, ram kund, laxman kund which were all having one pond with fishes in it and a temple and also the floating stone. Besides he also took us to Panchmukhi Hanuman temple.

By 1 pm we were done and had our lunch at Gujarat Bhawan (Rs.55 for thali) which was not upto the mark for a gujarati thali. After havng a good nap we left in the evening. We missed the view from the bridge and both times our train passed it was dark, should have went there by an auto for the view. Don't forget to buy shell items for friends back home
