This action packed Bond Flick does not quiet match up to its prequel. Not as smart, not much of a story or romance (bond is hurting with the loss of Vesper Lynd in the prequel).Still I recommend go for this one. You get the power packed doses of car chases, plane wrecks, motor boat collisions hand and knife combat etc.. Adrenalin pumping stuff. Also there is the hotel room (Sex, combat with Assassins, imp message at the receptions etc..) Real James Bond stuff.

Movie starts off where casino royale left off. Hurting from love loss and betrayal, bond is seeking revenge. A revenge that takes him from the UK to Italy to Bolivia to Austria, back to Italy, across to Haiti and finally to Russia. Bond uncovers secret society called Quantum. Quantum is so rich and powerful they can topple governments and their key players can control the water supply of an entire continent.

There are two sexy Bond girls in the curvy shapes of Camille (Olga Kurylenko) and MI6 agent Fields (Gemma Arterton). (Both hot in my view though my colleagues do not think much of Olga) bond only has a very limited rendezvous with Gemma and that’s the only flesh action there is (at least in the Indian release).

Bond is really reckless in his pursuit of vengeance and leaves dead men everywhere. Bond goes so rogue, MI6 cuts him off. CIA agrees to kill him.

This movie is well researched and well shot. Locales are satisfying. The action is particularly well researched. The sparing looks completely real and believable. The shots are however sometimes irritatingly close. You see hand hit the body, man knifing man, pulling, tackling, etc but the camera is so close up that you do not realize who is hitting whom. It even gets irritating.

Quantum of Solace tries to be different and change with the times. Bond does not say shaken not stirred. (However there is a scene a bartender describes his drink) The classic Bond theme tune is saved until the end. And never once bond says “The name’s Bond, James Bond”. I wonder why such significant deviations.

As for Craig, there is no denying his charisma. Craig really pulls of the role and even does some very risky and spectacular action stunts.

Also there are dangerous skydives, car chases, roof top bone cracking action, grotesque oil drenched nude female corpses to look forward to. If you love destruction, you see cars, helicopter, military jetfighter, a cargo plane and several boats all being destroyed by bond.
