Recently I visited Puri temple with my family. Even though we enjoyed the whole trip which had a visit to Konark temple, beach and Bhubaneswar, the experience at Puri was not so good.
The learnings of the visit are
Never give alms to any of the beggars nearby the temple.
You will see many people approaching you saying that they are priests and they will take you through the temple and get all your pujas (offerings) done. I just have one question for this, do we need a middle man between us and god?
Never go near to any idol (murti) and try to prey/offer puja. The priests will make you do some puja and take money from you which goes to their pockets and does not go to the temple fund.
The fourth category of people you should beware of are the police people inside the temple. They behave to the people who come to pray as if they are thiefs/or don't have any standard.
Even though we enjoyed staying at Dalmiya Athiti Vihar in Old Puri the above experiences were really irritating.
