Puri is a coastal city 60 km from Bhubaneswar which is the capital of Odisa. Puri which was earlier called Jagannath Puri is one of the most famous holy cities and tourists visit this place all round the year.
I often visit Puri with my family. Puri is specially famous because of the Jagannath Temple which is an ancient temple build during 12th century AD. During Rath Yatra devotees from all around India visit Puri.
Not to forget is the Puri beach by the Bay Of Bengal which is a very beautiful and picturesque place. Whenever we visit Puri we make it a point to stay at a hotel facing the beach. The puri beach is famous for sand art and craft, camel tour and other festivals organised at the beach.
Tourists also visit the Chilika lake which is located in the Chilika Wildlife Sanctuary.
No wonder Puri is the most sought after tourist destinations in India.
