This review is for the mumbai location at Phoenix mills. lower parel. couldnt find the place listed here on mouthshut.
Went here on a weekday night along with a frnd who had come frm b'lore. We reached d plce arnd 9.45pm. without reservation.
Location: need I mention dat? not required I guess. very easy to spot!
Ambience: nice ambience. a perfect plce for a dinner wid famly & frnds! I infact, liked their ambience wch was not too low lit and not too over lightened!
Food: we basically ordered veg meal. did order a dal & a veggie along with some rumali rotis. cmng onto the dal. it was very good. nicely made & no artificial flavoring. but d veggie(forgot d name. it was a paneer dish tgh). was a slightly on d -ve side. d paneer was a tad old & rough(yes rough n not hard). one cud make dat out while biting it. the roti's were good. did order for a pista drink wid d food. wch I mus say. was one of the best I've had in mum. Overall, except for the veggie. everything else was good.
Service: pathetic service. they seriously need to give'kind' service to their customers. although, the rest was not even half filled. nd d ppl who made the bookings didnt turn up. they made(just the two of us) wait for an hr! If it wasnt for my frnd who had come frm outside mum, I would ve definitely walked out. The person at d gate didnt knw exactly how many tables were empty & kept on saying 2 mins 2 mins.! the manager also gave us cold shoulder! while inside, the waiters were like: we dont care who the hell r u. kinda attitude. once our order came in, we had to literally shout out for the waiter to get another round of roti's & papad.
Pricing: Its not cheap but then its not expensive too! for the two of us with the above mentioned food, the bill came arnd Rs.1, 600/-. The bill did pinch(not on pocket) coz of the service. as it was hardly a bsy night(not even half the tables filled), the service was pathetic. god knws how the service might be during peak hours!
Recommend to members: You can give it a shot. though my experience was on d rocky side, I hope the service improves. Ambience is really one of its kind at this place! I truly loved d ambience. Food is also good.d dal was better than many other places dat I ve visited so far like Pritam da Dhaba!
