My family and I used to use Sabena Dishwashing Powder to clean kitchen utensils, prior to 2003. The powder never used to lather very much and required plenty of elbow grease for its proper removal, in order to prevent a residue from forming on the utensils. It also used to leave behind, a rather strange and stale smell.
My mom was very relieved when a friend recommended Pril dish washing liquid and since we started using Pril(beginning from late 2003) to wash our utensils, the task of dish washing became a very pleasant experience, rather than a very annoying chore!
Pril is available both as a dish wash liquid(in the form of a 225 ml bottle, a 450 ml bottle, a 750 ml bottle, 2 litre bottle and even a tetra pack!) and as a 350 gram dish wash bar.
As far as I know, there are three variants of Pril: Lemon Burst(the yellow liquid), Active Lime(the green liquid) and Active Kraft Gel(the blue liquid).
We prefer to use the liquid version of Pril, mainly because my mom is very particular about not utilizing a bar of soap to wash dishes, in order to avoid the negative experiences we faced, while using Sabena!
The dish wash liquid comes in a plastic bottle, which can be conveniently stored away, when not in use. Much to our delight, this plastic bottle also comes with a unique and useful locking and unlocking system, which prevents unnecessary wastage and spillage of the dish wash liquid. This system, is all to do with the spout, through which the dish wash liquid flows. Pulling the spout upwards, 'unlocks' the plastic bottle and the dish wash liquid can be poured out through the spout. Pushing the spout downwards, 'locks' the bottle and no matter how much you tilt the bottle(and even if you turn the bottle completely upside down), no dish wash liquid spills out through the spout!
As far as effectiveness and fragrance is concerned, the Active Kraft Gel variant of Pril, is the most effective and fragrance wise, happens to be the most pleasing!
To ensure that we don't make use of excess dish wash liquid, we first rinse the utensils in warm water. We then, apply about 2 to 4(medium) squirts of dish wash liquid onto the scrubber and gently wipe the utensil with the scrubber coated with the dish wash liquid, till it starts to adequately lather. We love the fact that Pril dish wash liquid produces so much lather and tackles even the toughest stains(caused by the usual culprits, such as oil, turmeric powder, pav bhaji masala, etc.), with very little elbow grease! The dish wash liquid does not leave any residue behind and does not stick to the utensils! The dish wash liquid(especially the Active Kraft Gel variant) also leaves the utensils with a beautiful and refreshing fragrance!
Oh and while washing utensils using Sabena Dishwashing Powder, used to cause my family members and I to have rough and wrinkled hands, Pril dish wash liquid does not have such an adverse effect!
My mom and I have also discovered that Pril is so much more than a dish wash liquid. Two(small) squirts of Pril dish wash liquid onto a damp cloth, have really helped in quickly removing stubborn food stains our glass table tops, our steel cook top and steel kitchen counter, on numerous occasions!
It is for these reasons(that I've outlined in this review) that I believe, Pril is the best dish wash liquid(or should I say, multipurpose liquid!), available in the market today!
